Antwerp Metal Fest 2018

June 30th: “School’s out for summer!” as Alice Cooper would say. Summer vacation officially began and Antwerp started it with a bang! On the first weekend of July Bouckenborgh Parc hosted the 6th edition of Antwerp Metal Fest. That’s right, the 6th one already and oh my, how they’ve grown. This year among the headliners were no less than Nile and Testament! However they managed to get a few European bands in the line up as well as staying true to the local scene by programming some Belgian bands and up and coming talents.

We’re already curious what the 2019 line up will be!

The people were plenty, the beers were cold/gold and the weather gods smiled down upon us. A wonderful mix that resulted in these images…

Day 2 – July 1st
Testament I Am Morbid Malevolence

Malevolence

When they played the first note we immediately understood where this band got its name. The bass was so low and loud it practically cleared the front stage area in a matter of seconds. Malevolence won’t just steal the spectators’ hearts. They could very well be able to control their heartbeat as well!
