This past Friday, we got to experience an incredibly unique opportunity: catching the second sold-out show at Tavastia featuring the original members of the legendary Children of Bodom, with Samy Elbanna stepping in to honor the late, great Alexi Laiho. The night celebrated the long-lasting and impactful career of one of the world’s most renowned Finnish metal bands, Children of Bodom – and one of Finland’s most iconic guitarists, Alexi Laiho.

The two-hour spectacle delivered hit song after hit song, all played to absolute perfection, in front of what was possibly the wildest crowd I have ever personally seen at Tavastia. Seeing original guitarist Alexander Kuoppala perform with the group for the first time since 2003 was a real treat for all die-hard Bodom fans. Massive credit must also be given to Samy Elbanna for taking on this difficult task with great grace and impeccable precision.
