The Plot In You rolled into Fort Wayne, Indiana on Tuesday 9/9/25 bringing along a metalcore rager to Piere’s with a lineup of support from Northlane, Invent Animate and Windwaker!
When I arrived at Piere’s, the line to get in was winding down the sidewalk of the attached plaza. I knew it was about to be a rager of a show, and that it was!!
The opening act for the evening was Windwaker, a metalcore band that came all the way from Australia! The band formed in 2014 and the current lineup consists Liam Guinane [vocals], Justin Keurntjes [guitar], Indey Salvestro [bass], Connor Robins [synth] and Chris Lalic [drums]. They definitely started the energy off firing on all cylinders with a pit going and crowd surfers. They also had the audience get low to the ground and pop up which is always fun to see!
Keeping the high energy going next was Invent Animate, a metalcore band formed in Texas in 2011! The lineup consists of Marcus Vik [vocals], Keaton Goldwire [guitar], Caleb Sherraden [bass], and Brody Taylor Smith [drums]. The momentum continued to build with their strong vocals and heavy breakdowns. I really loved their vibe and their all white outfits!
The energy in the room exploded with Northlane! Another awesome metalcore band hailing from Australia and formed in 2009. The band consists of Marcus Bridge [vocals], Jon Deiley [guitar], Josh Smith [guitar] and Nic Pettersen [drums]. The crowd surfers came in much like the mighty sea at one point, fast and furious!
And bringing down the house, of course, The Plot In You!! This metalcore outfit formed in Hancock County, Ohio in 2010. This is my literal neck of the woods here in corn and soybean country! What is ironic about it though is I didn’t hear of them until a few years ago while listening to Octane on Sirius FM. The band is made up of Landon Tewers [vocals], Josh Childress [guitar], Ethan Yoder [bass] and Michael Cooper [drums]. I have been patiently waiting for my opportunity to catch them live and not only that, but get to do media as not only a fan, but as a fellow Ohioan. It is an honor! I was blown away from start to finish! They played a 15 song set and I was captivated the entire time. The vocals and crushing breakdowns kind of reach into your soul and spin it around! I definitely hope to see these guys again sometime soon!
