Last year, we got to be part of an amazing event where 2 completely different cultures collaborated to showcase each others culture. Through Formosa:Finland:Fest, we really got a taste for discovering more about the amazing people, culture and music from Taiwan. So when it was announced that there would be a special performance by the Helsinki-based band Taiwania with Chthonic frontman and Taiwanese ambassador to Finland, Freddy Lim, where they would play Chthonic songs in a special accoustic arrangement to show the people at the Helsinki Travel Fair about their country and hopefully get them interested in visiting, we just had to be there. And it was absolutely captivating with visuals projected behind them, traditional instrumentation and Freddy Lim at times grunting and shouting at an event where you wouldn’t expect to hear sounds like that.
