Kneel Before The Death – Kneel Before The Death

Kneel Before The Death is an extreme blackened deathcore metal band forged in early 2013. During the early years, the band released three EPs that gained growing curiosity among the Finnish metalheads. Following lineup changes and a new musical direction, they re-emerged in 2023 with a sharpened vision. They released the self titled full length Kneel Before The Death and I'm curious what they have in stock for us.

They started off big with ‘O’ Death’ that delivers from the beginning with furious blast beats and symphonic samples which is a movement within deathcore that I like. Going further with ‘Unity’ that gives us some black metal vibes but then delivers the sickest deathcore sound but with the same macaber vibe. Finland is not known for their deathcore bands but these guys are doing are very good job. With ‘Semper Fi’ they grow further on the black metal vibe and just wrote a black metal song. Not a fan of black metal but this sounds pretty good to me. We continue on the more brutal way with the devastating ‘Born Astride The Grave’ that keeps the blood running. With ‘Eternal Sleep’ they are combining more and more black metal elements, which I guess is never really far away in a Nordic country…

The next one is self titled ‘Kneel Before The Death’ that returns to their symphonic deathcore sound that I really like. With ‘Rise’ they found the perfect balance between their deathcore sound and the symphonic elements they display. ‘I Am The One’ is the perfect bridge for what is yet to come cause the songs at the end are from a higher level that begins with ‘I, Eternal’ that combines the deathcore sound perfectly with their black metal sound. A mix I never thought that would ever happen. And with ‘Spiral’ we’re at the end of the line. A band that I didn’t knew but they just got a new fan.

Kneel Before The Death is a Finnish band that I didn’t know of before, with a genre that is not all that common in Finland. But these guys delivered. I hope their going through with all of this cause they have a talent and I would be horrible seeing it going to waste. So I hope I hear more of these guys soon.
