Folkvangr

GRIMM’s third beer! (2022)

For beer nr 3, GRIMM Gent decided to work together with Tourette Brewing, a collective of brewers, zythologists and beerlovers, based in Ghent, Belgium.

We went for a refreshing pale ale with malted barley, wheat malt, Voss kveik yeast, Magnum and Belgian Chinook hops. Floral, just like the Norse goddess Freya’s field for the fallen warriors. Come drink it with us in Jeugdhuis Asgaard (Gentbrugge)!

This is our first beer to feature the golden “Belgische Hop – Belgian Hops” logo, which is an indication that can only be used when a beer is made with 100% Belgian Hops!

SKADI

GRIMM’s second beer! (2019)

GRIMM Gent is proud to present its second collaboration with brewery Totem!

Skaði [‘Skadi’ for easy pronounciation] is a very drinkable 5,5% thirstquencher in the style of a saison.

While our Odroerir braggot showcased our love for mead, we chose to aim for a beer that pairs well with the Jägermeister shots that pour fluently in our own venue Jeugdhuis Asgaard. Hence the label design with Skaði, a Norse huntress godess, the stag and the so familiar black and orange Jägermeister colours.

ODROERIR

Odroerir, GRIMM Gent's first beer, brewed in collaboration with Totem

GRIMM’s first beer! (2018)

After a few tastings with our loyal volunteers we decided we wanted a beer with a pronounced flavor, not too high in alcohol so we can drink it all night in Jeugdhuis Asgaard, black as our souls and with a hint of the healing potion of the true vikings (mead!). With these instructions our brewer, Klaas of Totem, came up with the recipe for a braggot beer!

Obviously we wanted a brewer that resides around the area of Ghent and loves metal music. We found the perfect partners in crime with Klaas en Liesbeth of Totem. They like to brew beers that most other Belgians wouldn’t. Among their creations are a Christmas tree IPA, a red stout, … So expect something special for the first beer of GRIMM Gent!
