On the seventh studio album “Liturgy of Death”, Norway’s black metal legends Mayhem ascend to the throne as they enter the fifth decade. The long reign of darkness is marked by unparalleled originality, founded by Necrobutcher (bass), Hellhammer (drums), and Attila Csihar (vocals). In addition to guitarists Teloch and Ghul, they transcend with a powerful sonic impact that surpasses the norms. Mayhem brings a demonic delivery; the album continues from where “Daemon” left off, which proved too grandiose. Since their classic masterpiece album “De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas”, the Norwegians have found the right antidote to bring their most ferocious and unrelentless experience.

Discovery Through Torment is an Canadian brutal deathcore band that already released two full-lengths with 'Divine In Blood' (2020) and 'The Mangled God' (2022), and now their set to release their brand new EP called 'Telesynthetic Rebirth.' I don’t know how many of you remember the Swedish melodic death metal band Slumber, which released its only album, “Fallout,” in 2004. Slumber played a unique style, albeit in the modern vein of bands like Rapture, Katatonia, and Swallow the Sun. The embellishments of dramatic piano lines and growls with female vocals was enrapturing. Sadly, the band split up after releasing its only album and this led the founding member and guitarist Jari Lindholm (guitars, bass, keyboards, and vocals) to unite with Sebastien Pierre (lead vocals and keyboards) to form a new band under the moniker Enshine.

In 2023 they released their debut album called 'The Burden Ov Faith' and I was blown away by this massive sound of a new band and their debut album. So I can say that my expactations are high for their second album called 'Endless.'

The seventh studio album from one-man blackened doom metal act The Ruins of Beverast, offering the ominous and dark side of Alexander von Meilenwald’s musical grimoire. Within the band’s discography, the sole member managed to craft his own strand of black and doom metal. Yet from all his studio albums, "Blood Vaults - The Blazing Gospel of Heinrich Kramer" and “Exuvia” highlighted the stylistic changes that focused more on the atmospheric and haunting themes. While later albums like “The Thule Grimoires” went beyond the previous black metal albums and took a different approach towards blackened doom and post-punk inspirations from bands like Type O Negative and Fields of the Nephilim.

Since their debut 'Chapter 3: The Last Section' (2020), Paleface Swiss has evolved from an underground insider tip to one of the defining forces in modern metal with explosive riffs, massive breakdowns, and an uncompromisingly powerful rhythym section. The follow-up album 'Fear & Dagger', released in 2022, went even further. More emotional, heavier and more uncompromising. And with the release of their 3rd album, 'Cursed' (2025), they caught my eye. I followed them and loved it instantly. And now for the beginning of 2026 there is this new EP called 'The Wilted' to kick off the new year properly.

It's a band that came out of the blue and released their EP 'Hell Is Right In Front Of Us' back in October 2025 but I couldn't let that EP slip into oblivion. So here is their EP in the beginning of 2026 getting what they deserve.
