Death grungers Wrath join Dark Essence Records

Grunge, Progressive Metal

Originating from the heart of Haugalandet, Norway, WRATH fuses the brooding intensity of prog metal with the raw, unrefined energy of grunge, enveloping the entire soundscape in a sea of reverb. The result is a unique musical experience.

WRATH is made up of three young musicians: Jenny Rudi (composer, vocal & guitar), Sander Skogen (drums, sample & noise), and Aron Vagle (bass & jaw harp). Together, the witches of WRATH ignite the Norwegian underground with gritty riffs and a maelstrom of sound.

With their explosive live energy and distinct groove, Wrath has recently been generating a lot of buzz in the Norwegian underground metal scene. Together, they blend anger and vulnerability, noise and rhythm into a raw, primal and hypnotic brew. This dynamic is evident in the music’s seamless shifts between aggressive and tender moments. The band aims to create eccentric, boundary-pushing music that remains accessible, appealing even to those who don’t typically enjoy metal.

WRATH had this to say about joining the Dark Essence Records roster:

“We’re so happy that we have gotten this opportunity to work with Dark Essence Records in the making of our future albums. After 5 years of grinding down the underground scene, this feels like a true milestone in our music careers. We’re thankful that Dark Essence sees potential in our project, and we hope we will make them a lot of money. Also, we hope they can make us famous rock stars. Together we shall bring the dynamic force of the Norwegian wilderness to the international music landscape” – Jenny Rudi, Sander Skogen, Aron Vagle.

WRATH recently dropped their single “The Glade”, a track that showcases the diverse influences and interpretations drawn from the band members’ varied musical backgrounds. Amidst witches, quirky goth vibes, pine forests, and trolls, the unmistakable echo of Norwegian folk music also resonates. The outcome is an energetic, melodic, and hypnotic concoction – a “troll potion” that pulls you into a dreamlike, dissociative fairy tale.

WRATH released their first self-titled EP in 2021, and was met with widespread acclaim, both within the Norwegian metal scene and internationally. Following this success, the band transitioned to a more experimental sound, showcased on their folk-back metal ballad ”Blóð Máni”.

The band is currently in the studio recording their debut album. More info on this very soon!
