Satanic doo-wop duo Twin Temple unveil new 16mm music video for 'Doomed Lovers' • GRIMM Gent

Los Angeles-based duo Twin Temple have unveiled a new music video for “Doomed Lovers”, the title track of their upcoming third album.

Rather than simply accompanying the song with a conventional music video, Twin Temple have leaned into an analogue, cinematic aesthetic. The video was shot entirely on 16mm film, with directors Dante Capone and Fred Joseph using classic Hollywood optical effects and in-camera double exposure techniques to create its visual world.

According to the band, the choice of film was an important part of the video’s concept. The imperfections and fleeting quality of the format were considered essential to the story, giving the finished piece the feeling of a lost memory from a world that is already disappearing.

“Doomed Lovers” itself was first shared earlier this year as the title track from Twin Temple‘s forthcoming album, which was produced by GRAMMY Award-winning producer Shooter Jennings. The record was recorded at Sunset Sound in Hollywood and will expand the duo’s established sound with lush orchestral arrangements, including performances from a 37-piece orchestra.

With the new video, the song now gets a visual counterpart built around the same sense of dark romance and cinematic atmosphere that runs through the upcoming album.

The video was directed by Dante Capone and Fred Joseph, with Capone also handling camera duties. Ralston Finney served as assistant camera, with assistance from Renata Polli, while leather was provided by The Cast NYC.

Twin Temple‘s third album, DOOMED LOVERS, is due later this year via Pentagrammaton Records.
