‘Prison Of Flesh’ opens the box of filth and we hit te jackpot. Diabolical vocals, scorshing riffs, blastbeats but above all an demonic breakdown. Hitting back with ‘Oblivion’ which is a more melodic and epic song with the atmospheric samples in the background woven together with the melodic riffs and the menacing vocals of Will Ramos. An epic beauty that lasted almost 9 minutes. ‘In Darkness’ goes further on the melodic spectre but with the necessary twists and turns from melodic to diabolical blastbeats. ‘Unbreakable’ is the only song that hits under 5 minutes so you can say that this is an epic release overall. But in this short time frame they succeed to make it work and make an epic short song. Short in Lorna Shore terms. Then we have reached my personal favorite called ‘Glenwood’. Through the blastbeats, the riffs create a certain vibe that really does it for me. This Lorna Shore is creating a masterpiece.
The brutality kicks in again with ‘Lionheart’ and its endless blastbeats, and scorching riffs. Oooh I love this. ‘Death Can Take Me’ is 7 minutes and counting but the blastbeats never die out. This drummer is a beast. You hear the war machine in ‘War Machine’, this song is just raging through my speakers. ‘A Nameless Hymn’ is the ultimate black metal infused deathcore song. But wait until the end for an all-obliterating breakdown rising from the ashes. And we end this album with an epic track, and quite similar to their former album, the longest song on this album, with ‘Forevermore’. Enjoy this epic moment from an epic band and it’s road to the top.
The new album of Lorna Shore is one of the many albums this year that scores 100% in my personal opinion. It’s gonna be a hell of a job to see who’s gonna be the ultimate number 1. I’m starting to collect quite a few contenders for best album of 2025. But this album gave me so much joy that I think for now this wel be my number 1. But we’re not at the end of the year yet. Who know what will change and what is yet to come. Stay tuned.
REVIEW SCORE
| 10 | Lorna Shore is back with a new album, and it’s the second one with our deathcore beast Will Ramos. For those who thought deathcore is dead can give this a spin cause this is deathcore at his finest. A new level of brutality. |
