Well they are not wrong about their emotional depth and crushing heaviness when we hear ‘Bury Me’ which is a mix between emotional clean vocals and some crushing riffs. Next up is ‘Violent Spin’ and violent it is. It starts off soft and just when you think it stays that way because the chorus already passed by, the intensity quickens. The vocals are stronger and they hit you with a filthy heavy breakdown and then like nothing that emotionally charged voice happens again . We are coming to one of my favorite tracks off this album. Spoiler alert: I have 2 of them. This is ‘Right Now’ that has a really catchy chorus and like in the intro the emotionally charged lyrics are there too. With ‘ColdHearted’ I think they’re aiming to be played on the radio. I could be wrong but on this song they are playing it really safe. There are harsh vocals in the background but the entire song we hear clean vocals. Nothing wrong with that and the breakdown in the end is nice but also played a little safe. But hey why not promoting metal on the radio. ‘Fractured’ has a nu-metal vibe with some rap vocals that inplemented in it.

With ‘Farewell’ we get the Our Mirage we want to hear. Some brutal pieces and the emotional vocals implemented into it. A descent metalcore song. ‘The Chase’ is a cooperation with the german band Elwood Stray. I don’t know the band but after this I want to know more about them. After hearing Our Mirage there is one band in mind and that is Dead By April. So it’s no surprise that there is a guest appearance from Christopher Kristensen on ‘Don’t Talk.’ His contribution adds value on this song and who else can do this with a band like this. With ‘God Behind Your Eyes’ we see the soft and emotional side of Our Mirage with a real love song that really hits. And we end with my second favorite of this album called ‘Timeloss’ with a guest appearance of Screamistry, a vocal coach on tiktok. Yet again a really catchy song but it sounds really good. I got to know this song also through tiktok and I was hooked. And when I saw the announcement of a new album well it got my interest and it didn’t dissapoint.

Well this second album of these german guys of Our Mirage didn’t dissapoint. It does what has been told. It hits really hard, has some nasty breakdowns, emotional song lyrics and is really catchy. People who love their metal to be emotional like Dead By April have to hear this. But if you are a brutal metal fan that like some nasty filthy breakdowns well then this might not be the band for you.
