Yellowcard is back with their first album in nearly a decade. In 2017, the band really thought they had played their last show ever. But after some time apart, wounds had time to heal and the band feels ready to play again. I'm curious to hear what violin punk rock they will bring. Lets check it out!

Time for a bit of nostalgia. If you grew up in the eighties, chances are your bedroom was littered with all kinds of cool action figures from Star Wars, Master of The Universe, Transformers or G.I.Joe. This definitely must have been the case for the guys from Cold Slither since their monniker is taken from an infamous episode of the G.I. Joe Sunbow television series where Cobra Commander devised a cunning plot to corrupt America’s youth by hiding subliminal messages in the rock songs by this fictive rock band called Cold Slither.

Hooded Menace has given us one of the towering albums in 2018 with their crushing release "Ossuarium Silhouettes Unhallowed", helmed by the founder Lasse Pyykkö (guitars, bass, and keyboards), who has been inspired by the death doom acts of his country. “Lachrymose Monuments of Obscuration” is the seventh studio album, offering the visceral elements of Hooded Menace's signature style and also uncovers the depth of the songwriting talent.

While their band moniker sounds very Scandinavian, the fellows in Krigsgrav in fact hail from Keller, Texas. With ‘Stormcaller’ they are down to eight albums in just about 15 years. So quite busy bees really.

Feuerschwanz is known for their power metal with fun schlager touches. They create amazing parties at festivals where I've seen them live. Released on August 22, 2025, was their new album 'Knightclub'. Another party for sure! Let's check it out.

Paradise Lost returns with a grandeur and solemnity in their seventeenth full-length album “Ascension” out via Nuclear Blast Records since September 19th, 2025. The godfathers of doom death and gothic metal evoke memorable choruses of the band’s classic albums such as “Icon”, “Draconian Times” and the latter studio albums like “Obsidian”.

Amorphis was one of the first metal bands I've listened to and liked, but while I enjoyed a lot of their older work, it never really hit the sweet spot for me. This only changed with the release of 'Queen of Time'. 'Borderland' while in many ways similar to the aforementioned album, has added even more elements into their sound. This album is probably not gonna tickle everyone’s fancy, especially long time fans might miss some of the harder elements of Amorphis' sound as it feels a lot more commercially acceptable. That said, I personally like it a lot, it might even be my favourite Amorphis album so far.

For those who weren't aware yet, Lorna Shore is an American deathcore band that was founded in 2010 and has found their road to success. That wasn't easy. After several vocalist changes, Will Ramos came in and then finally the road to success began with the release of the single 'To The Hellfire' that baffled everyone. His vocal range was supernatural. It resulted in their 4th album 'Pain Remains' with the astonishing trilogy 'Pain Remains I, II and III'. Now their hitting the stage as a headliner. From nobody to headliner and now releasing their 5th album 'I Feel The Everblack Festering Within Me'.

German heavy power metal legends Helloween celebrate their 40th anniversary with the newest album “Giants & Monsters”, marking another achievement in the band’s expanding discography. Ever since the inauguration in late 80’s Helloween has been a force to be reckoned with and have been a paragon of virtue of European traditional metal holding all the musical parameters by maintaining their neoclassical style on the debut album “Walls of Jericho”, and the sophomore masterpiece “Keeper of the Seven Keys Part I” and the follow-up album “Keeper of the Seven Keys Part II”.

In a direct death/doom metal approach, the Boston, Massachusetts quartet Innumerable Forms delivers a rawer slab of doom filthiness on the band’s third full-length album, “Pain Effluence”. I was mainly impressed by the heavy guitar dirges and the deep growling on the previous two albums, “Punishment in Flesh” and “Philosophical Collapse”; however, as a fan who loves death doom metal style, Innumerable Forms seems like a mature band now with the third installment.
