Indica played a special acoustic show at Tampere’s G Livelab on Friday the 19th of December. Together with Erno Laitinen and Jarkko “Jakke” Saarinen they delivered a fun show, that has left me wanting more.
Indica once was one of the very first bands I saw live back when they played only their English songs and I’ve been longing to hear songs in Finnish for a very long time and now it was finally time. Jonsu, Heini and Sirkku put together a special acoustic set to play at their last gig of the year (and also unfortunately the last gig for the foreseeable future). They brought along Erno Laitinen and “Jakke” Saarinen for guitar and drums.
They played two sets of each roughly 40 minutes, including all of their most famous hits like ‘Linnansa vanki‘ or ‘Ikuinen virta‘. The show ended with one song that they had never performed live, ‘Horisontti‘.
The show was over a bit too fast for my liking, but I guess we can excuse that due to the fact that Sirkku is currently very pregnant (Jonsu literally joked at the beginning of the gig “Don’t worry, Sirkku promised that she won’t deliver her baby on stage tonight”) and it probably extra hard to play for a long period of time. Aside form the set being on the shorter side it was a very fun show.
It’s amazing to see, or hear actually, how much the same Jonsu still sounds compared to those many years ago when some of these songs first came out, it’s magical, almost like a fairy choir, especially when all three of them are singing.
