Canadian folk pop/rock duo FIONN crush making System of a Down’s ‘Toxicity’ their own in a cover version

Folk, Folk Rock, Pop, Rock
rogue

Our site is dedicated to everything rock and metal with a few sidesteps in music that appeals to the same music fans like synthwave, neo (pagan) folk, industrial,… But some of us do have a taste for music and art that goes beyond these limitations. Enter “GRIMM goes rogue”: where you’ll get a metalhead, punker, rocker,… who ventures into realms beyond their usual habitat with an open mind and give their honest opinion, views and experiences.

"A mind is like a parachute. It doesn't work if it is not open."

Frank Zappa

While on tour Vancouver-based Duo FIONN caught up with Musora to film an epic on the spot cover of System of a Down’s “Toxicity” BUT in folk-pop style. Now garnering millions of views on TikTok & almost half a million on YouTube – it’s become a VIRAL moment! Check out the Viral TikTok Videos on Musora’s Channel Here!

About FIONN:

With over 4 million cumulative streams, 2.3 million YouTube video views, the cover of Next Magazine, a CBC Top 20 (TAKE ME OUT!) and, a Top 30 Alternative Rock single (I MIGHT START SMOKING!!) under their belts, Fionn are ushering in a new era with fierce style where their unparalleled knack for songwriting truly shines. “Snake Behavior” is the third new single to be released from the duo in 2024 following “Bad At Being Casual”, and “Your Type”. Highly recommended for fans of Avril Lavigne, The Beaches, Alanis Morissette and Gwen Stefani, Fionn are bridging the gap between Gen Z’s fascination with 2000s pop-nostalgia and Millennial branded angsty garage rock chic, giving them a vibrant, yet uniquely crafted edge.

In 2023 Fionn released their third studio record I Might Start Smoking. The sexy 12-track record features infectious bangers including, “Leo”,  “Goldfish”, and “18” . Just as addictive as nicotine, it serves as a full-circle moment seeing the duo revisit the sound and spirit of their heralded first releases. Though their path to this point has been anything but predictable, Fionn are cementing themselves as a force to be reckoned with. After all, the twin sisters only dropped their self-titled debut in 2018, though they’ve been quite prolific since, they’ve developed a songwriting palette in a few short years that even career artists would kill for.
