Kneel Before The Death unleash explosive single 'Spiral' • GRIMM Gent

“Spiral” is Kneel Before The Death’s latest release with Ranka Kustannus, and will also appear on their upcoming self-titled album, due June 6, 2025. “Spiral” is the band’s most diverse offering to date, starting with fast riffs and blast beats and later transforming into a more atmospheric track with plenty of space for lush orchestrations. An official music video also accompanies the track, portraying the band as color-blocked, shadowy figures moving through the song’s twists and turns.

The band comments:

“‘Spiral’ is our most complex song, not only because it is the longest song in our catalog, but it also toys with time signatures. ‘Epic’ is the best single word to describe this song. The choirs and orchestras in the verse already give chills for fans of symphonic metal, and the melody in the chorus has the feeling of folk music with a waltz vibe around it. Playfully, you could even say that the song is a waltz of death.”

This new single, clocking in at 6 minutes and 34 seconds, is an indicator of what is to follow on the upcoming full-length album, Kneel Before The Death: an unrelenting style that marries aggression with beauty, and traditionally heavy guitar riffs with innovative orchestral motives. The album will be versatile across metal genres, and will explain the lore behind the band’s moniker.

“The album tells a story of an everyday man who has been haunted his entire life by an emperor of the afterlife, an entity called The Death. In his quest for revenge he conquers his inner demons and faces off with The Death in its kingdom, but in the end is consumed by the very enemy he swore to destroy.”

Kneel Before The Death is a four-piece extreme metal band founded in early 2013. During the early years, the band released three EPs that gained growing curiosity among the Finnish metalheads. After lineup changes and finding a new musical direction, the band returned to the metal scene in 2023 with the singles “Eternal Sleep” and “I Am The One”. They signed with Ranka Kustannus in late 2024 and are slated to release their first full-length album on June 6, 2025.
