Faun just recently released their 12th studio album ‘HEX’ (derived from “hexe”, the German word for “witch”) dedicated to showing witches and female magic in a different light than the fairytale cliché.  The band is currently touring to promote the album together with the Swedish pirates of Ye Banished Privateers and the Swedish Nordic folk duo Pettersson & Fredriksson.

We got lucky with a Belgian date on the tour, so we couldn’t miss the concerts in a packed De Casino in Sint-Niklaas. While Faun is a rare sight in these parts, Ye Banished Privateers has graced us with concerts a few times in recent years, which became very apparent with a bunch of pirate hats lining the front rows. Many know Faun from the medieval & fantasy folk scene, the band seems to be going into a visually more modern direction these days.
