Samoht was clearly somewhat inspired by dark Americana and country inspired music looking at his albums of the year 2023 list featuring artists like Dorthia Cottrell, Osi and the Jupiter, Wayfarer and The Coffinshakers, but also massive albums by bands like Frozen Soul, Serpent’s Oath, SLOW, OAK, Smoulder and Bell Witch!
Xavier apparently spent more time catching up with what he missed in 2022, than discovering new releases in a year that he seemed somewhat disappointed about what was coming out. He still picked out a handful of releases that stuck out for him with Nytt Land, Avatar, Gloryhammer, Kludde and Dymna Lotva!
2022 was yet again an exceptional year for music. After putting together the favorite releases of most of our members, we came to our editorial top featuring the latest releases from bands like Wolfheart, Muse, Ghost, Electric Callboy, Kreator, Malevolence, Heilung, Machine Head, Wiegedood, Psychonaut, Lorna Shore, Bad Omens, Sylvaine, Parkway Drive, Lamb Of God, Rammstein and Zeal & Ardor!
Week 37 brought us a bunch of wholesome, heavy and unique songs and videos from bands like Dust In Mind, SKYND, Lorna shore, Starbenders, In Flames, Vévaki, King Dude, Sahg and Electric Callboy. Go check them out if you haven’t yet!

Heilung is always such an impressive experience, more than just another concert, it’s a ritual every time leaving us energized and exhalted by the flow of energy radiating from this collective. We really didn’t want to miss out on their last tour for awhile and caught them at their very first stop in Helsinki! They brought their good friend Eivør with them to warm up the crowd with her spellbinding voice and music, which is such a darn good match always!
