Comeback Kid announce ‘Trouble’ EP for March 15th, 2024

Hardcore

For the past two decades, Comeback Kid has stood as a cornerstone in shaping and pioneering the sound of modern punk and hardcore, and they show absolutely zero signs of slowing down. Today the band announces TROUBLE, the new EP set for release March 15th through SharpTone Records. The four song EP is a sonic blast, as bright melodies cross waves with thrashy riffs and riled-up vocals. Lead single “Trouble In The Winner’s Circle,” out now, is primed to be an anthem, laced with punchy rhythms and an infectious chorus harkening back to the song’s title. It’s a tongue-in-cheek track about public collapse, and the video finds the band ironically trapped in a fishbowl in the midst of an underground fight club. You can stream “Trouble In The Winner’s Circle” HERE and watch the video HERE.

On the track, vocalist Andrew Neufeld states:

“‘Trouble In The Winner’s Circle’ is about public meltdowns. Having the world crashing down on you on display for the masses to see like peering into a fishbowl. It’s a tongue and cheek rock anthem driving its point to the bitter end.”

Produced and recorded by the band and John Paul Peters at Private Ear Recording in their hometown of Winnipeg during 2023, the TROUBLE EPis a testament to Comeback Kid‘s unwavering commitment to pushing forward on their own terms. The band set out to create an almost palette cleanser from past material, leaning more upbeat, but still carrying the hard-hitting aggression they’re known for. With mixing and mastering from Will Putney, you can hear the layers and depth of sound the band carved out in every track on the release. TROUBLE EP is a hit to the senses and can be preordered now through SharpTone Records.

Comeback Kid is currently in the midst of a UK and European tour with The Amity Affliction, Alpha Wolf, and Mugshot, and just announced a 2024 Latin America tour, full dates below.

Originating in Winnipeg, Canada and first gaining recognition with their 2002 demo and the acclaimed Turn It Around in 2003, Comeback Kid has consistently balanced a DIY ethos and dependability with a humanitarian approach, breaking down hardcore boundaries and elevating the genre to a global stage. Career-defining album Wake The Dead launched the band to new heights in 2005, and 2007 found Andrew Neufeld taking over vocal duties on the band’s third full-length, Broadcasting. Giving hardcore notoriety across the world, Comeback Kid released four albums between 2011-2022, the latest being the highly praised Heavy Steps (Nuclear Blast). With the upcoming release of their TROUBLE EP and a packed touring schedule, 2024 is set to be another standout year for the five-piece.

Comeback Kid is Andrew Neufeld (vocals), Jeremy Hiebert (guitar), Stu Ross (guitar) Loren Legare (drums) and Chase Brenneman (bass).
