Piere’s in Ft. Wayne, Indiana was stop #2 on Fozzy‘s ‘Save the World Tour’. Piere’s is a legendary live concert venue located in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and was closed for a bit but re-opened last year. It had been a long time since we had stepped into this venue but they had not disappointed us in the past and we were expecting a great show with Fozzy, along with support from the GFM band, KrashKarma and The Nocturnal Affair. This ‘April Fool’s Day’ rock show was certainly the real deal and no joke!

The Nocturnal Affair

The first band of the evening was The Nocturnal Affair. Once we arrived and picked up our credentials, they were already on stage and had a very nice crowd of people in the audience. The group is based out of Las Vegas, Nevada lead by singer Brendan Shane and has more of a dark, industrial sound, which we definitely dig.

KrashKarma

Next up was KrashKarma, a Los Angeles based rock duo.  The sound of the drum got our attention and Rachel headed towards the photo pit, but realized very quickly that the drumming was coming from the crowd! After a quick dodge out of the way, the duo made its way through the audience and up onto the stage. Ralf Dietel brings strong vocals while Niki Skistmas crushes it on the drums and balances Ralf out on vocals. The pair bring a vibrant energy to the stage and the entire room with a sound you wouldn’t expect coming from just the two of them!

GFM

Hitting the stage next was Jacksonville, Florida’s faith-based sister trio, GFM (Gold, Frankincense & Myrrh). The all girl band is lead by Maggie on bass and vocals, CJ on guitar and vocals, and lastly youngest sister Lulu on drums and vocals. Donning lime green and black cheer-leading uniforms, we couldn’t help but pay attention to these talented young ladies! I was truly amazed how Maggie could switch from her melodic rock sounds to a deep scream and back again. They enthusiastically jumped around the stage and truly got the crowd involved and ready for headliner Fozzy.

Fozzy

Fozzy took the stage and started with hit song Sane. The band led by WWE Wrestler Chris Jericho on vocals, Billy Gray on guitar, PJ Farley on bass and Grant Brooks on drums, is one of those bands that we would consider a good ol’ rock band. One of those bands with amazing talent and just leaves you feeling energized after every show. Chris Jericho is a strong frontman who definitely brings his performance experience from the WWE to the stage, and who is quite enjoyable to watch. He is a crowd pleaser and you are sure to have a blast at one of Fozzy‘s shows.

The group played many of their popular songs such as Nowhere to Run, Purifier, Judas and the new song I Still Burn. In addition, they played a cover of Duran Duran‘s Relax, Don’t Do It, which was fantastic and you couldn’t help but dance and sing along. Fozzy closed out the night with a cover of AC/DC‘s Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, which was a favorite with the crowd and definitely with us as well. We actually thought to ourselves at one point in the show, I wonder what Chris Jericho would sound like singing AC/DC. When they started playing Dirty Deeds, my partner may have gone a little ballistic!

All in all, Fozzy put on a great show. Catch them on their tour, you will have fun, you will sing along, and you will leave the show with a smile on your face for sure!
