Leprous is a kind of band that has managed to keep growing in popularity, even though the music they release now is quite a bit away from the sound they started off with. And that was clearly noticeable on their “Aphelion European Tour”, where a lot of the dates were sold out, including the stop in Helsinki. With them, they brought the UK djent outfit Monuments and Norwegian Nordic folk inspired alt-rock band Kalandra. A quite diverse line-up that still has elements in common with each other, and promising us a splendid night of incredible music.

Two sold-out performances in the Trix launching their Hypa Hypa Tour and afterwards outplaying everyone at Alcatraz 2022 creating a massive dust cloud in the process. That was the parcours Electric Callboy (formerly known as Eskimo Callboy) ran in Belgium during the last year. Were they able to match or even exceed that level this year again or was it simply a hype that now starts to lose its edge? Well ….. this most definitely is not just a hype and this band put the entire Lotto Arena in flames on their Tekkno Tour. The general consensus amongst all fans was univocal: next year Sportpaleis!

It’s been a night in the making for quite a while, and now it was finally happening: Tuskalive brought German pagan folk stars Faun to the Finnish soil for what was promising to be a magical evening! As we’ve discussed before, these kind of folk acts are a rather rare sight in Finland, so whenever one comes by to take us to a dream soundscape that has the potential to connect us with our forefathers, we never hesitate to jump at the opportunity.

Last summer, Finland’s up and comers Lost Society unleashed a very nu metal tinged album with ‘If The Sky Came Down’, and they’ve been touring Finland these past couple of weeks to promote that album in front of many sold out venues. Finally, after postponing his tours on the one hand due to corona issues, on the other hand because he had the opportunity to go on tour with Dream Theater, our Canadian master mind half comedy guy Devin Townsend is here in support of his new album Lightwork. On this tour he brings with him the Norwegian band Fixation, which I unfortunately missed, and the French dudes of Klone

When the kings of German thrash metal Kreator and the American pioneers of New Wave of American Heavy Metal Lamb Of God decided to go together on the “State Of Unrest” tour throughout Europe, no one could expect that it would take 3 years before it could finally happen. As always nothing can stop the music, this was going to be one of these evenings you will never forget.

Three years we had to wait for this concert, three f*cking long endless years! Just as with any postponed gratification – you know what I am talking about – the expectations only raise higher, and sometimes they raise too high. Was this the case with Wardruna you may wonder? Absolutely not! That concert was literally and figuratively divine.
