After hosting an accoustic concert in a yurt in spring, Idavoll decided to kick things into high gear for fall season. They invited Italian pagan folk duo Emian and Belgian electro-folk duo Luneris for a night of blending history with high tech. Emian is firmly based in pagan folk, but has been adding a subtle electronic layer to their compositions. Luneris, a classically trained sister-duo, goes all out in creating a heavy electronic base heavy with psytrance and drum ‘n bass to layer their celtic harp, violin, whistles and mouth harp over. Let’s just say the energy went from cosy-happy to extatic over the course of the night.
Eivør’s European tour stop at Kulttuuritalo in Helsinki unfolded as an evening of deep emotion and carefully crafted atmosphere. With a voice capable of both fragile intimacy and overwhelming force, Eivør guided the audience through a set that felt rooted in tradition while remaining unmistakably contemporary.
The night was enriched by a thoughtfully curated lineup, with Elinborg opening the evening and Ásgeir joining as a special guest, each adding their own distinct voice and texture to the journey. Together, the performances turned the evening into something far greater than the sum of its parts.
The cold and wind did not stop Fort Wayne from showing up and showing out on a Wednesday evening for the “Through Shadows USA tour” with Born of Osiris and special guests The Browning, VCTMS, AXTY and Lost In Separation! Metal is alive and well, as this stacked metalcore lineup was an absolute barn burner!
Kicking off the night was Lost in Separation, hailing from Dallas/Ft Worth, Texas. They started off with a lot of energy, which set the tone for the rest of the evening.
Next in the lineup was AXTY! This 3 piece metalcore band was formed in Brazil. I especially liked the vocalist’s growls.
VCTMS was on deck next and they were fantastic! I have been wanting to catch them for a bit! Their drummer is really entertaining to watch. Overall, they are a high octane metalcore band.
The Browning, electronicore outfit from Kansas City, Missouri. The unique blend of genres is fun. You get the screams and growls in addition to being able to dance. They did a cover of “Blue”(Da Ba Dee)” which was very rad.
Born of Osiris, progressive metalcore band from Illinois, took the stage last. They are veterans in the scene of metalcore, having been around since 2003. With their hard hitting vocals and heavy guitar riffs, they brought the energy to the stage! They showed their appreciation to their fans multiple times throughout their set, which was cool to see. They played an 18 song set list, including hits such as ‘In Desolation’, ‘Through Shadows’, ‘Bow Down’, ‘Divergency’, ‘Abstract Art’ and ‘Machine’.
This entire tour package was a blast from start to finish! I highly recommend you catch a show in your area!!
On this day, we partied like it was 1994, when pop-punk legends The Offspring brought their massive rock ‘n’ roll show to a sold-out Helsinki Ice Hall during their “Supercharged Worldwide” European tour.
Accompanied by pop-punk powerhouse Simple Plan, it was the perfect night to “dance, fucker, dance”—no matter your age.
What a fun night! Check out the picture evidence down below!
Faun just recently released their 12th studio album ‘HEX’ (derived from “hexe”, the German word for “witch”) dedicated to showing witches and female magic in a different light than the fairytale cliché. The band is currently touring to promote the album together with the Swedish pirates of Ye Banished Privateers and the Swedish Nordic folk duo Pettersson & Fredriksson.
We got lucky with a Belgian date on the tour, so we couldn’t miss the concerts in a packed De Casino in Sint-Niklaas. While Faun is a rare sight in these parts, Ye Banished Privateers has graced us with concerts a few times in recent years, which became very apparent with a bunch of pirate hats lining the front rows. Many know Faun from the medieval & fantasy folk scene, the band seems to be going into a visually more modern direction these days.
Melodic death metal heavyweights ARCH ENEMY are conquering Europe with their explosive “European Blood Dynasty” tour, and it’s nothing short of a musical crusade. With their latest chart-topping album ‘Blood Dynasty’ in the musical luggage the Swedish genre royalties —led by Alissa White-Gluz and her ecstatic stage presence as well as guitar virtuoso Michael Amott—are bringing their signature blend of brutality, riffs, growls and melody to stages across the continent.
But as if this isn’t just enough, the night is a full-blown metal get-together. Joining them are three masters of their specific genres:
AMORPHIS: the mastermind of a progressive and melodic death metal with folk influence. The Finns are widely known for their atmospheric soundscapes and mystic vocals.
ELUVEITIE: Switzerland’s folk metal grandmasters. A wild fusion of ancient instruments paired with aggression result in a truly unique combination.
GATECREEPER: Not to forget the upcoming stars of death metal from Arizona. Old-school aggression revamped.
On September 30th, the Draconian Darkness Over Europe Tour brought a wave of melodic darkness to DVG Club in Kortrijk, headlined by Finland’s Wolfheart. The night featured four bands — but with such a full line-up, the show started early, and we unfortunately missed opener Full House Brew Crew (Greece). From what we heard, they kicked things off very well.
Suotana (Finland) was the first band we saw — and they were a pleasant surprise. Their music came alive on stage, far surpassing the studio versions. The double bass drum thundered through the venue and gave their set an immediate, driving force that pulled the crowd.
Next up, Before the Dawn (Finland) delivered a set full of dark atmosphere and melodic weight. Their blend of old classics and newer material from their comeback was well-received, and the presence of guitarist Vagelis Karzis as the live guitarist for this tour, who also plays in Wolfheart with Tuomas Saukkonen (behind the drumkit here), created a nice musical through-line across both bands.
Headliners Wolfheart closed the evening with a crushing and atmospheric performance. The set was tight and immersive — cold, heavy, and cinematic. A definite highlight of the night was “Breakwater”, a fan-favourite that hit hard with its emotional intensity and sweeping dynamics. Tuomas Saukkonen and the band delivered it with precision and passion, and the crowd responded with full force.
Going strong for over two decades now, Pendulum still delivers their classic drum ‘n’ bass tracks live with great precision and earth-shattering sound. Nowadays, they’re gaining more popularity within the metal community, which was evident in the audience—more and more metalheads filled the crowd, inciting wild mosh pits during this Monday show. It was truly heartwarming to see people of all ages, all the way up to the upper rafters, dancing and enjoying life to the fullest—even on a Monday evening. That’s the true Pendulum live experience. With support from British sister duo ALT BLK ERA, it was a truly entertaining night to dance your worries away about the upcoming week. Check out the pics down below!
Pakanafestarit 2025 once again offered a space where tradition, ritual, and contemporary expression met on equal footing. Across the festival grounds, music rooted in folklore, history, and myth unfolded in many forms from intimate, earthbound moments to powerful, commanding performances that felt almost ceremonial in nature.
With performances by The Gallow’s Dance, Ilkka Heinonen, Värttinä, Kallomäki, Havukruunu, and Ínkar, the festival moved fluidly between quiet reflection and overwhelming intensity. These images capture fragments of that journey, moments where sound, setting, and spirit aligned. While we focused on the musical performances in this article, there was so much more to see and experience than just music, an event we highly recommend you visit some time soon if you can!
Happoradio are currently on a concert hall tour through Finland to promote their recent release ‘Ojaan ja allikkoon‘. The sold out show in Tampere lasted for about 2 hours including an half an hour break, with the first half focusing more on the slower songs while the second half had slightly higher energy.
