Freeze The Fall’s bone-shattering track ‘Aurora’ streaming now

Alternative Rock, Hard Rock

Rising hard-rock trio FREEZE THE FALL is back with a bone-shattering single and visualizer, “Aurora”. This intense and immersive offering is a blistering, heavy-hitting track that captures Freeze the Fall’s journey of resilience, a theme that resonates throughout their upcoming sophomore EP, The Red Garden, slated to hit shelves globally on June 18, 2025 via 604 Records. Full of lore, interwoven narratives, and hidden secrets to be revealed in time, this raw, haunting EP serves as an impressive, macabre relic showcasing the trio’s technical prowess. The Red Garden is produced, mixed and mastered by Jordan Chase and engineered by Colton Douglas at Oo-de-lally Recordings in British Columbia, Canada.

“Everyone, no matter who they are, has experienced the same universal emotions, and has run into similar life challenges, that’s what makes us all human. The humanity between all of us often goes unrecognized, leading to people feeling alone or misunderstood. Ultimately, because we all experience these emotions in some shape or form, we should be able to respect and understand what others are going through. In doing so, we can freely waltz across the sky like the northern lights,” explains Freeze the Fall.

“Aurora” is a powerful fusion of electrifying guitar riffs, haunting melodies, and deeply introspective lyrics. It sees lead vocalist Quinn Mitzel delivering a commanding performance supported by Aria Becker’s driving basslines and Jonah Goncalves’ explosive drums. The third single to come off The Red Garden, it balances intricate, melancholic guitar lines with hard-hitting rhythms, creating a sonic landscape that feels both raw and cinematic. The single introduces an ethereal, almost celestial quality, symbolizing escape and transcendence. Lines like, “tears all shed from the same gun,”  is particularly poignant, alluding to shared pain or collective trauma, adding depth to the song’s emotional weight.

“Aurora” follows, The Red Garden’s first two singles, “Hypothermia”, (Feb. 2025) and “VHS” (Oct. 2024) which represents an intense, raw, and emotional shift. Named as one of Revolver Magazine’s “6 Best New Songs”, and added to Spotify “Fresh Finds Heavy, “Hypothermia”, has garnered impressive streaming numbers, among reactions on YouTube, adding to the incredible praise from Freeze the Fall superfans, known as The Cold-Front. “VHS” premiered at Vancouver’s Horror Festival in October sparking ravenous excitement worldwide. The band’s debut EP,  THRONES, was released summer 2024.

Inspired by groups like Spiritbox, Bring Me The Horizon, Epica, and Palaye Royale, The Red Garden is an evolution both in sound and storytelling. Leaning into themes of nostalgia, emotional distance, the EP is marked by its cold, isolating atmosphere and heavy, almost post-metal textures. It combines elements of melding introspective and poetic lyricism with soaring, anthemic instrumentation. Adding to a sense of grandeur and emotional release. With still so many secrets and hidden truths to be revealed, The Red Garden feels like a defining moment for Freeze the Fall, showcasing their ability to craft deeply moving, high-impact music. It is a promising collection of songs that expand on their signature sound.

Welcome to The Cold Front. You say “loud” Freeze the Fall says, “How loud?”. These hard rockers are not playing when it comes to their music or their artistry. With an acumen for storytelling their fans are already theorizing what comes next. The band consists of Quinn Mitzel on guitar and lead vocals, Aria Becker on bass and backup vocals, and Jonah Goncalves on drums. They write original music based on angsty guitar riffs, wildly technical bass lines, and powerful drum fills. All tied together with soulful melodies.

“We write songs about life, all of it, and we hope you love listening,”.
