Oneiric black metal powerhouse Akhlys reissue their ‘Supplication’ debut album
Oneiric Black Metal powerhouse AKHLYS just concluded the Age of Phobetor European tour, once again conjuring the shadowed majesty of acclaimed 2024 opus, “House of the Black Geminus.“
The seeds of the band’s visionary sound were sown in 2009 via debut album “Supplication“, a solo work of Horror Ambient from mainman Naas Alcameth (NIGHTBRINGER). This trance-inducing, deeply personal record evokes spiritual and mythic nightmare through haunting synthscapes, ominous sound design, spectral vocal invocations and ritualistic percussion — a 37-minute descent into the sacred depths of dream and dread.

Now subject to a 2025 DMP CD/vinyl reissue – which includes reworked Art by Chthonia (also responsible for haunting recent AKHLYS videos) – “Supplication” is crucial to the modern AKHLYS sound, its tortured dreamworld underpinning the occult Black Metal psychosis of subsequent records from the now fully-fledged band: 2015 modern classic “The Dreaming I“, 2020’s unstoppable “Melinoë” and latest oneiric masterpiece, 2024’s “House of the Black Geminus“.
“Supplication” is now available to order through DMP‘s EU, US, and Bandcamp shops. Please note: the exclusive DMP edition created by Le 7e Oeil will begin shipping around November 14th, while the standard CD and vinyl editions are available immediately.
All AKHLYS albums are currently available on CD and LP formats via DMP‘s webshops. For those yet to immerse themselves in these unparalleled dreamscapes of terror and transcendence, now is the time to claim the complete AKHLYS discography.

AKHLYS was formed 2009 by Naas Alcameth (NIGHTBRINGER, AORATOS, BESTIA ARCANA) as a musical expression for the inexplicable visions, journeys and phenomena that occur in liminal lands between slumber and awakening. Initially exploring these concepts via Dark Ambient in debut “Supplication” (2009) and then haunting Black Metal through lauded follow-up “The Dreaming I” (2015), Alcameth has once again reified and rarefied this vision, giving rise to a third and crowning work, “Melinoë“, which was released in December 2020.
Earning widespread acclaim for their live performances, AKHLYS secured a partnership with Parasite Gallows Booking in 2022. Amidst numerous tours and festival appearances in Europe, Israel, Latin America and the United States, the recent years have also witnessed the crafting of new compositions destined for the band’s fourth album. Titled “House of the Black Geminus,” this much-anticipated release was released July 5th, 2024.
