Serpents Oath release new single ‘Gateways to Tiamat’

Black Metal

Belgian black metal revelation Serpents Oath released their new single“Gateways to Tiamat” with Odium Records. The track extends the arc unveiled on Revelation, presenting a hymn to the primordial void and the transformative force of the ancient Serpent. The track is positioned as a descent and return, holding tight to the band’s black metal core while pushing intensity and atmosphere in tandem. To foreground the words and the visual identity that shaped Revelation, the band chose a lyric video format that pairs the song with artwork by Néstor Avalos, uniting image, text and sound in one reveal.

SERPENTS OATH started as a new creature comprised of 3 adepts of Belgium’s extreme metal scene. As soon as they met up and started creating together, they realized they were establishing a very different entity. Hence they decided to leave the past behind and give birth to this new Beast.

As this unholy trinity the band unleashed debut album ‘Nihil‘ through Soulseller Records in 2020 to much critical acclaim. With its relentless and unforgiving version of nihilistic black metal it took the world by storm.

Tes Re Oth had the following to say:

“The vision behind the band is one of transformation. This shines through first and foremost in the lyrics and is carried through in the cover art and other visuals. The transformation is that of an individual striving to become transhuman with the ultimate goal of beating even Death. This is the ultimate rebellion as even Death is not accepted as a given.”

Since then, they have expanded their line-up to five sworn in members. Working and recording on their sophomore album as a full band brought a new dimension to the record that is recognizable from the first listen. “Ascension” saw the light of day in 2022 and this opus brought only crushing riffs, pounding drums and terrorizing screams.

In 2023 Serpents Oath joined forces with Odium Records to unleash their third album “Revelation” upon the hordes. A distinct step forward both in songwriting and production, this latest opus is showing that the Flame burns brighter than ever.

On the live front they are a force to be reckoned with, as this is where the band truly come into their own. Here you can smell the incense, taste the blood in the air, feel the warmth of the flame on your skin and be crushed by their skull impaling riffs of hate!

“To live by the force of fang and claw
Forever respecting the one true law”
