American Vanity release new single ‘Whenufall’

Alternative Rock, Art Rock

Rising PA rockers American Vanity shared their latest single, “whenufall.” The track is the latest offering from their upcoming debut album 17, out everywhere on July 17th.

Co-written with producer Matt Squire, “whenufall” is a moody, vulnerable track that explores the emotional toll of always showing up for someone who won’t do the same in return. Co-vocalists Virginia Franks and Luke Vanchure trade verses, with Luke’s grit complementing the smoothness of Virginia’s delivery. The cathartic chorus brings them together as they lament, “It’s 2am, no one’s around, I’m there to take your call, always there to catch you when you fall.” Pulsing guitars and an understated bassline keep the focus on their powerful vocals, allowing the song’s emotional weight and lyrical impact to take center stage.

“‘whenufall’ focuses on loyalty as obligation — being the person who always shows up, answers the call, and absorbs the fallout,” explains the band. “The song reflects exhaustion born from emotional accessibility without reciprocity. Its restrained verses and soaring chorus mirror the imbalance at the heart of the relationship.”

17, American Vanity’s debut record, is a cathartic, high-impact body of work that pairs emotionally charged lyricism with sharp, modern alternative rock production by Matt Squire. Across the record’s 10 tracks, the band navigates the fragile space between connection and self-preservation, unpacking the quiet pressures that society places on us. Each song is a different form of catharsis, capturing the volatility of self awareness in real time. From the high energy, hooky “Lifeline” to the brooding vulnerability of “Kill To Feel,” 17 is a cohesive yet emotionally varied debut that details the journey of reclaiming your identity and finding yourself again.

“This album explores what happens when connection becomes conditional and self-worth is tied to visibility, loyalty, or approval,” American Vanity shares. “Each song documents a different stage of realizing that staying accessible, agreeable, or available can quietly erode identity. Rather than opting out, the record confronts how to participate without losing yourself.”

American Vanity, formerly known as Burn The Jukebox, is a group that turns modern rock into a mirror — vivid, unfiltered, and built to reflect what it feels like to live in your own skin. Led by dual vocalists Virginia Franks (bass) and Luke Hoffman (guitar), with Luke Vanchure on lead guitar and Carter Dennis on drums, the four-piece creates music that takes aim at how image, approval, and identity get tangled in the attention economy, where everyone’s chasing views but no one feels seen.

Stay tuned for more from American Vanity.
