Nocturnus AD returns with a new album ‘Unicursal’ drawing elements from thrash metal and technical death metal wrapped in bizarre cinematic symphonies of alien space. Out on Profound Lore Records.

Day one of Tuhdimmat Tahdit in it’s all renewed version gave us Kotiteollisuus, Marko Hietala, Lost Society, Stratovarius, Mokoma, Stam1na and Amorphis. What a great festival that we sure will return to again in the future.

We sat down with Onni and Kevin from Assemble the Chariots at Tuska 2024 to talk about their new album ‘Unyielding Night’ (set for release on July 19th via Seek and Strike), how this is the start of a whole universe they’re creating, with the sound they’ve always envisioned for the band from the beginning. And we came back from the talk with 2 things ingrained in our heads: listen to the album from start to finish, and make sure you make it to the release show at On The Rocks in Helsinki where they’ll play the album in its whole for what sounds like a unique experience…

Another great night of the Coolhead Live concert series with metal icon Ihsahn, supported by some of the top of the Finnish scene with Before The Dawn, …and Oceans and Qwälen!

About a month ago, Chris Maragoth released the video single ‘Bury My Remains’, on which he collaborated with members of the German melodeath band Aeon of Awareness!

The 2024 Coolhead Live concert series got kicked off by the Brazilian hardcore/crossover thrash legends Ratos de Porão, with the support of Terveet Kädet and Forca Macabra!

Recorded in a contemporary art gallery, Hanging Garden reinvented their signature gothic doom sound into a dreamy, ethereal type of shoegaze on this outstanding live EP ‘Citylight Sessions’, out on Agonia Records this should appeal to both longtime followers of the band and fans of later day Katatonia or even The Gathering.
