Melancholic Finnish metal band Mourning Wood is releasing their debut album this autumn, and the latest new single ‘Swift Demise’ gives you a proper miserable taste of what is to come!

Belgium’s up-and-rising heavy metallers Speed Queen are about to release their debut full-length ‘…With a Bang!’ this Friday via High Roller Records, but not before they provided a last taste of it a couple of weeks ago with the track ‘I Walk Alone’!

Brutal Assault 2025 – Day 1 set the fortress ablaze right from the start. From 3 Inches of Blood, Skálmöld and Fleshgod Apocalypse to the chaos of Inter Arma, the industrial punch of Static-X, and the psychedelic darkness of Oranssi Pazuzu, the first day was packed with highlights. Add in Frayle, Dying Fetus, Ruïm, Kerry King and Rotting Christ, and it was a perfect start of this year’s edition!

The Obscure and Octagon stages delivered some of the most intense sets of Day 1 at Brutal Assault 2025. From the triumphant return of 3 Inches of Blood to the symphonic fury of Fleshgod Apocalypse, the crushing weight of Inter Arma, the haunting doom of Frayle, the occult darkness of Ruïm, and the mind-bending chaos of Oranssi Pazuzu, it was truely a journey through the extremes of heavy music!

Day 1 of Brutal Assault 2025 set the tone right away with a good mix of legends and crushing heaviness. From the epic Viking soundscapes of Skálmöld to the industrial grooves of Static-X, the unrelenting brutality of Dying Fetus, the thrash assault of Kerry King, and the dark rituals of Rotting Christ, the Marshall and Sea Shepherd stages started off the festival properly.

From sludge legends to Olympic headliners and unexpected big performances on the smaller stage… Lokerse Feesten delivered on August 5th a day that was nothing short of historic. Melvins, Helmet, Coilguns, Amenra, Gojira on the main stage and Coilguns, envy, Red Kross and Light of Eternity on the Club Studio Brussel stage shook Lokeren to its core.

A couple of weeks ago, one of UK’s most promising acts, FURY, released a new thunderous and rebellious single ‘Don’t Lie To Me’, another track from their upcoming album ‘Interceptor’, set for release next month via Mighty Music!

Finnish metal icons Amorphis recently shared the new single ‘Dancing Shadow’ in anticipation of their upcoming new album ‘Borderland’, out next month via Reigning Phoenix Music! Catch them live this Fall in Europe with Arch Enemy or in the Summer of 2026 at the many festivals they’re already confirmed for, including Alcatraz Festival and Brutal Assault!

Finnish heavy metal powerhouse Battle Beast dropped their new single ‘Here We Are’ in the beginning of this month, another track from the upcoming anticipated album ‘Steelbound’, set for release in October via Nuclear Blast!

The sixth studio album “Skeletá” by the Swedish rock band Ghost offers instantly memorable songs crafted with familiar arias of 80s glam and pop rock bands. Already out via Loma Vista Recording since April, but still a regular listen for us.
