Rokki Raikaa Tampere 2026 -Day 2
The second day of Rokki Raikaa Tampere was less sunny, but not any less fun. In total roughly 16.000 people came to Hakametsä over the weekend to enjoy the festival.
One thing about Rokki Raikaa that I think makes it work so well is the many “friendship-offers” they have. They have special reduced ticket prices for two or four people, as well as many discounted offers for food and drinks that encourage people to invite more of their friends along. On the note of festival food: the prices at Rokki Raikaa are on the lower average range for a festival with dishes starting at 4,90€ for a hot dog and the average dish being 12,50€.
For those of us who are thirsty for some drinks, there is not only a great variety of drinks to choose from, but also different cheap special offers in the half an hour break between all performances.
Michael Monroe
Only a handful of artists have as much energy as Michael Monroe, he’s like a bouncy ball, running around the stage, jumping from speaker to speaker or off the stage, if you’re not careful you might get run over by him in the front row. And while Saturday was more cloudy than the previous day, he and his bandmates made sure the crowd was heating up.

Setlist:
Dead, Jail or Rock ‘n’ Roll
Motorvatin’
Last Train to Tokyo
Rockin’ Horse

Shinola
Hammersmith Palais
One Man Gang
Ballad of the Lower East Side
Don’t You Ever Leave Me
Ain’t Nothin’ to Do
I Wanna Be Loved

Marko Hietala
Marko Hietala delivered the shortest performance of the weekend, and personally I would have liked to see more as I always enjoy his strong vocals. I particularly enjoyed hearing two of his songs, ‘Isäni ääni‘ and ‘Juoksen rautateitä‘, in their Finnish versions as they just have some deeper feeling to them this way.

Setlist:
Frankenstein’s Wife
Rebel of the North
Isäni ääni
Impatient Zero
The Dragon Must Die
Juoksen rautateitä
Stones
Steve 'n' Seagulls
If you’re ready for a hillbilly country-style party then Steve ‘n’ Seagulls is for you. But don’t let them fool you, they might look a bit foolish and unserious, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t know how to play really good music. Their renditions of popular songs are just way more fun than their originals.

Setlist:
The Number of the Beast
Perfect Strangers
Over the Hills and Far Away
Freestyler
More Than a Feeling
Silvera
Self Esteem
The Trooper
Carry On Wayward Son
The Signals From the Past
(Don’t Fear) The Reaper
Master of Puppets
Thunderstruck
Lost Society
Singer Samy Elbanna recently gained some fans when he stepped into the role of Alexi Laihos at the Children of Bodom reunion/tribute concerts and although it’s great to see him filling those big shoes, it’s even better to see him succeed with his own band. The slight bit of rain that started right at the same time then Lost Society had no chance at all of cooling things down, these guys know how to bring the fire and they won’t leave anyone feeling bored.

Setlist:
Afterlife
Blood Diamond
Blood on Your Hands
112
Dead People Scare Me (But the Living Make Me Sick)
Is This What You Wanted
Synthetic
Into Eternity
Kill the Light
No Absolution
Hell Is a State of Mind
Awake
Turmion Kätilöt
The mystery artist of the festival turned out to be Turmion Kätilöt, which wasn’t too surprising as they also were the mystery artist of the Oulu edition of the festival. Unfortunately Bobby Undertaker can’t currently play any shows due to sickness, but luckily Kasperi Heikkinen did a great job filling in for him.

Setlist:
Yksi jumalista
Jalopiina
Lataa ja varmista
Nimi kivessä
Teurastaja
Verestä sokea
Suolainen kapteeni
Vihko
Isä meidän
Sikiö
Naitu
Kuolettavia vammoja
Pulssi
Tarot
Luckily we didn’t have to wait too long to hear more from Marko Hietala, as he was back on stage just a few hours later to celebrate 40 years of Tarot. I must say I didn’t really feel the vibe of their performance this time, unfortunately.

Setlist:
Crows Fly Black
Rose on the Grave
Ashes to the Stars
Wings of Darkness
Back in the Fire
Traitor
Love’s Not Made for My Kind
Rider of the Last Day
Crawlspace
Pyre of Gods
Cemetery Skyline
The Finnish-Swedish-supergroup Cemetery Skyline brought a little darker atmosphere to the festival which fitted very well with the also slightly gloomy weather. Eyes and raindrops sparkled from the atmospheric lights that cut through the setting darkness of the evening.

Setlist:
Behind the Lie
Torn Away
Anomalie
The Coldest Heart
The Darkest Night
Never Look Back
When Silence Speaks
Nothing From This World
I Drove All Night
In Darkness
Violent Storm
Apocalyptica
Apocalyptica, who are currently still touring with their ‘Apocalyptica Plays Metallica, Vol. 2‘ show are always a pleasure. Their music which combines metal and classic has such a unique flavor and seeing their playfulness on stage combined with their high level of skill always brings a smile to my face.

Setlist:
Ride the Lightning
Enter Sandman
Creeping Death
For Whom the Bell Tolls
Battery
The Four Horsemen
Blackened
Nothing Else Matters
Master of Puppets
Seek & Destroy
One
