Finnish gothic metal band For My Pain… releases nostalgic new single

Gothic Metal

The Finnish gothic metal band For My Pain… has released their third single “Time Will Heal Our Wounds”, which will also appear on their forthcoming album.

Founded in Oulu in 1999, For My Pain… is known as a messenger of dark gothic metal. The band emerged as a supergroup from the early 2000s metal scene, with a vision to fuse heavy melodic metal with a brooding gothic atmosphere. Its members were already known from bands such as Eternal Tears of Sorrow, Nightwish, Embraze, Kalmah, Charon and Reflexion.

In December 2023, For My Pain… announced their return—exactly 20 years after the release of their debut album. The first singles of this new era, “Recoil Into Darkness” and “WitchBitch Elite”, were released in 2024, reviving a sense of intense atmosphere and melancholic melodies that them deep into the shadows.

Now, For My Pain… offers fans something interesting from the past:  a new single which roots reach over 20 years back in the band’s history. Bassist Altti Veteläinen explains:

“The song was originally composed in 2004 by Samu Wuori- producer, multi-instrumental virtuoso, and Juha’s friend from the music school era. We played the song live at our second-ever live show, Jalometalli 2005. It became a kind of rare song because we never made a real studio version until now, but a bootleg YouTube video from Jalometalli kept it alive. People have been asking studio version of it since then…and finally we’re replying to your call! Vocal Melodies and lyrics were written by Juha.”

For My Pain… recorded the song, as usual, at vocalist Juha Kylmänen’s Whiteleaf Studio, which has recently become a second home for the band members. The legendary Mikko Karmila handled the mixing at Finnvox Studios and mastering took place at Stockholm Mastering by Sofia von Hage and Thomas Eberger.

Live dates:
Jun 27.-28.2025 LankaFest, Puolanka, Finland

Aug 2, 2025 Loisto Festival, Pudasjärvi, Finland
