Indie punks Hippie Trim share new single ‘Up In Smoke’

Indie punk band HIPPIE TRIM is back after more than two years with their new single, “Up In Smoke.” The track is an angry, honest response to a world that’s increasingly falling apart and serves as a powerful outlet for anyone who’s struggling to keep up with current social developments.

“The world is getting crazier by the day. Things that used to be viewed with skepticism are now overlooked, accepted, and normalized. Facts have become relative. Truth no longer matters. This realization can leave you feeling paralyzed and frightened. Or it can be a wake-up call to let it all go up in smoke. That’s exactly what this song is about. A verbal punch to the gut for every snake slithering through the grass. An outlet for everyone who can barely keep going in the face of what they see day after day. If this resonates with you, this song is for you,” comment the Germans.

Since their debut album Cult (2019), the quintet has been known for an unmistakable sound featuring heavy, playful riffs and vocals that are both raw and dreamy. With their critically acclaimed follow-up, What Consumes Me (2022), the band further expanded its international presence and earned praise from leading music media outlets such as BrooklynVegan. By the time they released the EP Morbid Orbit in 2024, HIPPIE TRIM had firmly established their knack for catchy yet uncompromising melodic rock.

Live, the band has also established itself in recent years as a rousing, powerhouse act. Following high-profile support shows alongside international acts like TURNSTILE, TROPHY EYES, and FLESHWATER, their next major concerts are coming up this month, as HIPPIE TRIM will be supporting the U.S. punk heavyweights DRUG CHURCH on their European tour.
