In the first part of our annual Support Your Locals at Alcatraz series, we take a closer look at Thursday’s Belgian bands, from legends like Channel Zero, Cyclone and Enthroned to exciting names such as Aeveris and Death Fury. Which Belgian act are you looking forward to seeing most?
Sure, the lineup is stacked. But if you ask us, Alcatraz is about so much more than the bands on the poster. From the atmosphere and the people to the food, the party spots and all those little moments between the shows, here are our 8 reasons why we think Alcatraz 2026 is a festival you shouldn’t miss.

On August 5th, Lokerse Feesten had an interesting line-up with big names on the mainstage, but also some pretty big acts on the much smaller stage in the Club Studio Brussel with Light Of Eternity, Redd Kross, envy and Coilguns!
The edges were sharp on Rockfest 2025’s final day. From crushing modern metal to hardcore punk defiance, Ghostkid, Immortal Disfigurement, and Black Flag left their mark on the Red & Black Stages.
With Descendents and Circle Jerks, 2 icons from the US hardcore punk scene dropped by at Kulttuuritalo in Helsinki in April, showing us all that they haven’t slowed down one bit and are still as rebellious as ever!
After 40 years of punk, Funeral Dress is saying farewell with a last tour, starting with a high-energy album release show at Trix, Antwerp. With memorable performances by support acts Luna en De Maanstenen and Belgian Asociality, it was quite the night!
20 years of HÄMATOM and an anniversary album are good reasons for the band to go on a ’20 Jahre Für Euch’ tour through Germany and celebrate German metal. With them as support are the Berlin rockers from ENGST, who impressed with their mix of rock, punk, and a pinch of pop. The openers in Stuttgart were the punk rockers from FOCUS.
The second night of this year’s edition of HKI SKEPU FEST in Helsinki was yet another (skate) punk party you shouldn’t have missed with the Danes from Uphill Struggle, the Polish party machine that was CF98 and Finnish acts Lame Duck, Teresa Banks and headliner Against It All!
