Gary’s albums of the year venture away from our more standard metal selection with a bunch of stellar punk releases from bands like The Bar Stool Preachers, Grade 2, The Darts, The Dollyrots, Rumkicks and Rancid, but also sidesteps into other music like the special brand of rock that Public Image Ltd. brings, blues rock with Samantha Fish and Jesse Dayton, an acoustic Dropkick Murphys and a trip back into time, reminiscing about London’s legendary Batcave Club!

The second day of Rebellion Festival 2023 was filled with surprises and nostalgia with bands like The Zips, Red London, Turtles JR, Spizz Energi, Bar Stool Preachers and last but not least, the two-tone legend Neville Staples from The Specials to get everyone skanking.

Metfest 2023 at the Tollwood area in Munich, Germany… a celebration with superheroes, warriors, good music and of course mead, with Feuerschwanz, Fiddler’s Green, Warkings and Grailknights!

Dropkick Murphys got the Munich crowd rocking two nights in a row at a sold out Zenith Kulturhalle, in the company of singer-songwriter Jesse Ahern, fellow Celtic punks The Rumjacks and punk royalty Pennywise.

‘This Machine Still Kills Fascists’ is a well crafted and original album from the Dropkick Murphys. Their music fits wonderfully with Woody Guthries lyrics (or is it the other way round?). The artwork on the cover is wonderful,  incorporating the famous “fascists” guitar into it was genius.

The first batch of names for the Wacken Open Air 2023 edition was announced over the weekend and pre-sales start in an hour! Don’t miss out!
