Album Reviews

‘Rat°God’ is the most characteristic death metal album released this year. Its distinctive songwriting style accurately displays what the Floridian bands achieved back in time.

‘Mokvání V Okovech’ incorporates an inspiring fusion of American and European death metal style.

Disembodiment has conveyed great ideas within the short time length of this EP. For now I will be spinning this record and keep my eyes open for their future releases. Recommended for fans of Incantation, and, Rottrevore.

This is a heavy locomotive death metal album done right in respect to the old masters. ‘Deathwards’ is hewn in the modern clichés of old-school death metal.

‘To the End’ is a powerful and consistent album. The whole performance sounds quite coherent. The song structure is seemingly collective with the constant elements of aggression and groove infused into the music.

Celestial Sanctuary has successfully managed to release a gripping piece of old-school death metal. The British quartet has brought something exceptional and uncommon in the modern age of death metal.

“From the Sulphur Depths” is full of heavy death metal riffs, the Italian lads have perfectly nailed a crushing sound on the sophomore effort.

Crypt of Despair has achieved new heights with their second album, the approach is organic, raw and massive in scale and intensity.

“Necro Sapiens” is packed with powerful riffs, grooves, monstrous growls, and turbulent drum performance, Baest once again proves to be a force to be reckoned with.

“Bushmeat” is a raw death metal album that contains many grooves sections played brutally to sound like they were recorded back in the classic era.
