Time Primer released new single and music video ‘Above/Below’

Finnish progressive metal rising act Time Primer has released a new single and music video. Above/Below offers a first glimpse into the band’s latest material and builds anticipation for their upcoming second album. The band’s debut album Artefact was released in 2023.

“The core of the song revolves around the idea of higher forces, which everyone interprets in their own way. The sense of connection to creation, and how this connection intertwines with these forces, brings comfort and balance. In the midst of it all, the human being is both fragile and extraordinary: filled with both small and great acts of courage,” describes the band’s vocalist Mika Varis.

Musically, the track flows smoothly, driven by a bold triplet-based pulse, offering plenty of hooks and inventive rhythmic ideas. The music video was filmed and produced by Mikko Parkkonen / Aarni Visuals.

Time Primer (founded in 2018) is a Finnish modern progressive metal band performing in English, known for its international sound, rich nuance, and refined craftsmanship. The band stands out from the crowd both musically and visually. The end result is organic yet polished. Time Primer is a unique presence in the Finnish metal music scene.

The band has released one EP, four singles, and their debut album Artefact, which came out in February 2023. They are currently working on their second full-length album, set for release in 2027. All of the band’s releases are self-financed. Time Primer writes, arranges, and produces their music independently. Recording, mixing,
communications, music video scripting, and a lot of the artwork design are all handled collaboratively within the band.
