US “Coven Core” visionaries Mama Doom sign to Argonauta Records

Argonauta Records is excited to announce the signing of one of the most unconventional and captivating acts in the US underground. Emerging from the cold and shadowed corners of New York’s Hudson Valley, femme fronted trio Mama Doom bring their genre defying vision known as Coven Core, a fusion of ethereal darkness, goth melodies and psychedelic twists.

The band comments on joining the label:

With vocals and keys, bass and drums, Mama Doom craft atmospheric songs built on hooks, moody textures and ritual energy. Their lyrics tell stories of monsters, madness, hubris and societal discontent, shaping a collection of narrative driven anthems that stand far apart from typical doom metal norms. This is not male dominated heavy music. Mama Doom are witchy, biting and unmistakably their own creation.

The band is also globally recognized for their cinematic identity, with a catalogue of award winning and often controversial music videos. Their daring artistic direction and striking special effects have earned international acclaim across the independent film scene, even as their imagery has faced bans and censorship on social platforms.
