Finland’s Shade Of Sorrow release standalone single ‘Summer’s Sorrow (Self-Destruction Diaries)’

Melodic Death Metal

A year post the release of the SHADE OF SORROW debut album, Mika Kankainen returns with more heartfelt anguish in the form of the band’s new summer single – “Summer’s Sorrow (Self-Destruction Diaries).” It’s the antithesis of the feel-good hit of the summer.

Released as a stop-gap/standalone track to all digital platforms HERE: https://lnk.to/summers_sorrow

“This song came as if by itself; the easiest and most creative project so far, quite sovereignly! At the end of the session, I said to my recording engineer that I have one more idea, and about an hour later, the body of the song was already in place. I decided that this will be released as a standalone single, since the style is so different from the rest of the material that I’m working on,” shares Mika.

“Summer’s Sorrow (Self-Destruction Diaries),” produced by Mika Kankainen and Esa Uusimaa, reminds us that while we may strive for joy and happiness life is not always fair and gentle and is balanced by pain and suffering; and that love is a dream but breakup a reality.  In combination, check out the accompanying music video, filmed by Vesa Pietilä, and edited by Mika HERE: https://youtu.be/3nuH12bMLNg?si=TSB4KFb2d-G8Emff

Finland’s SHADE OF SORROW released the debut album, ‘Upon the Fields of Sorrow,’ June 2024. Since fans of morose, somber, melodic death metal have enjoyed the work and cathartic suffering band leader, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mika Kankainen performs. Available on CD, Digital and a limited-edition (300) gray onyx colored vinyl HERE https://lnk.to/shadeofsorrow
