Swedish thrashers Dead Sleep release new single and music video ‘Children of the Blade’

Thrash Metal

Swedish thrash metal band Dead Sleep release a new single and music video for “Children of the Blade”, taken from their forthcoming EP Repulsion, due out June 26, 2026. Following the release of the title track “Repulsion”, the band continues the rollout of the EP with their second single, “Children of the Blade”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xb-jzq9gXu8

The song “Children of the Blade” is musically a merge between a heavier metal part interwoven with more uptempo thrash elements – a typical Dead Sleep mix.

The song features some guest solo guitars by the talented Malmö musician Patricio Vergara (Infernal Bloodshed, Remiso and Maligner).

The lyrics in this case are inspired by the biblical myth of King Solomon and the two mothers fighting over a baby and King Solomon ordering the child to be sliced into two parts, as a way of testing the women’s true maternal instincts. So it’s about motherhood and the abandonment felt by society when women refuse these instincts.

EP Tracklisting:
1. Repulsion
2. Hell Hath No Fury
3. Children of the Blade
4. Leech from Čachtice
5. Bring Me the Head

Recorded at Sunnanå Studios in Malmö by Markus Nilsson and featuring artwork by Bartosz Nalezinski, the EP also marks a new phase for Dead Sleep as a tighter, more direct trio. The stripped-back lineup brings a sharper, heavier sound, with more space for each element to hit harder.

Formed in Malmö, Dead Sleep have always done things their own way – blending punk energy, old-school thrash, and a refusal to fully belong to any one scene. Loud, raw, and unapologetic, they continue to build their identity on instinct rather than rules.
