Dutch alt-rock outfit Inside Shadows shares new single
Inside Shadows is a project created by guitarist and vocalist Mitchell Verschoor and drummer Sander Pietersen in early 2019. Bass player Daphne Muijderman later joined, and the material began to take shape as a full band.
The project was eventually put on hold due to health-related issues, and for a time it seemed unlikely to return. Over the years, the connection to music remained, and a new way of working slowly brought the band back into motion.
That process leads to “Supernova Gamma Rays”, released in April 2026. The single explores the end of our own system. As the sun expands and burns out, survival would mean leaving Earth behind and moving into the unknown. The theme is distant but grounded, and it runs through both the sound and the mood of the track.
Inside Shadows take cues from grunge, punk and new wave, with songs built on raw sound, feeling and direct hooks.
Verschoor and Pietersen are also known for their previous work on Socially Transmitted Disease with Dutch punk rock band F.U.A., which adds context to how this project has evolved. The single was produced, mixed and mastered by Miles Jacobs.
