Hardcore punk band Human Issue share new single ‘The World Is Your Oyster’
California punk band Human Issue share the final preview off their upcoming album In Flesh, set for release June 5th through Smartpunk Records. “The World Is Your Oyster” delivers a positive message over breakneck riffs and roaring dual vocal delivery from Hunter Martinez and Matthew Watkins. The high speed video for the song was shot and edited by Justin Eckley and Dylan Buck at Psychic Youth Large. Watch it HERE and stream HERE.
Speaking further on the track’s lyrics, Martinez shares:
“It took a long time for me to make a change for myself because I felt like I “needed” to be stuck to something I wasn’t happy with. The song is about feeling the sense of freedom that change can bring when you let yourself free of burden – letting go of something that you don’t care to hold onto anymore.”
Human Issue are currently on a west coast tour supporting Leftover Crack and Spaceman Bob and will follow it up with an east coast headline run starting June 18th. This September they’ll support The Bouncing Souls, The Suicide Machines and Strike Anywhere on tour. You can find all the band’s upcoming tour and festival dates, including The Fest and Camp Punksylvania, below.
Fast, direct, and stripped of excess, In Flesh pairs short-burst songwriting with sharp, poetic lyrics and a strict “get in, get out” approach. Most songs land under two minutes, packing hardcore aggression, flashes of melody, harsh riffs, and relentless drums into a tight nine-track, fifteen-minute release. In Flesh was produced by vocalist Hunter Martinez, Bryan Lothian (of A Global Threat) and Alex Jacobelli (Negative Blast), who also engineered and mixed, with mastering by Nick Townsend at Townsend Mastering.

In Flesh is available for preorder now through Smartpunk Records.
