Floor Jansen announces new solo album ‘Hytress’ and releases new single ‘Bring Me Silence’

Dutch singer Floor Jansen has announced the release of her second solo album, Hytress, due out on 15 January 2027 via REVAMP Music/Warner Music. Alongside the announcement, Floor has released “Bring Me Silence”, the second single from the upcoming record, offering a first further glimpse into the heavier and more direct direction of her solo work.

“Bring Me Silence” follows the previously released single “Run”, which arrived in June. Built around down-tuned guitars, layered vocals and Floor‘s characteristic vocal power, the new track brings together the heavier roots of her musical identity with the openness and emotional depth that have become central to her solo songwriting.

“The world constantly demands your attention. Sometimes it becomes so overwhelming that you can barely hear yourself anymore,” Floor explains about the song. “‘Bring Me Silence’ is about that longing for space in your head and your system. For clarity, a moment when everything is quiet and you can breathe deeply again and feel content and at peace.”

The song was among the first tracks written for Hytress. According to Floor, its combination of metal intensity and vulnerability came together naturally.

“Metal has always been an important part of who I have been,” she says. “The power, directness and intensity of it are deeply rooted in me as an artist. At the same time, my solo work has given me the opportunity to discover more openness and vulnerability. In this song, all those sides come together in a very organic way.”

Hytress follows Floor‘s 2023 solo debut Paragon, which marked a new chapter in her career outside of her work with Nightwish. The upcoming album continues that evolution while bringing her heavier musical background further to the forefront. Floor describes the new material as more direct and rooted in the sounds and influences that have shaped her as an artist.

The album will contain 12 new tracks, driven by down-tuned guitars, layered vocal arrangements and Floor‘s powerful voice, while retaining the melodic and personal songwriting that characterised her first solo album.

Floor has already been particularly active on the live front in 2026, appearing on the main stages of European festivals including Wacken Open Air, Masters of Rock, M’era Luna, Sweden Rock, Zuiderpark Den Haag and Bospop Weert.

Her upcoming schedule includes two Dutch shows with her live band later this year, before the HYTRESS Tour gets underway in January 2027. The new European tour will see Floor and her full live band perform across club stages, moving between the energy of her festival appearances and the more intimate atmosphere of her sold-out theatre tour in 2025. Floor‘s official announcement describes the new shows as a chance to bring the new material to life in a setting that covers the full spectrum of her musical identity.

From her early breakthrough with symphonic metal pioneers After Forever to her international career with Nightwish and subsequent solo work, Floor has established herself as a vocalist capable of moving between metal, rock, pop and more intimate material without losing her identity.

Her solo career gained significant momentum following her 2019 appearance on the Dutch television programme Beste Zangers, where her performance of “The Phantom of the Opera” with Henk Poort introduced her to a much broader audience. She subsequently released “Fire” in 2022, followed by Paragon in 2023.

With Hytress, Floor now appears ready to bring her heavier side further into her solo career while retaining the melodic and personal qualities that have defined her work outside Nightwish.

Hytress will be released on 15 January 2027 via REVAMP Music/Warner Music.
