Danish mariachi rock cult phenomenon Hola Ghost announce their upcoming album ‘Undead’ to be out in January

There is no other band like the legendary HOLA GHOST. Mesmerizing melodies. A mariachi-inspired horn section. Silver tone skeleton faces. And a restless pulse between surf, country, goth, spaghetti western soundtracks, punk and classic rock. Mariachi garage gringos meet desert rock rattlesnakes.

HOLA GHOST have spent years turning music into another world — one where the macabre can dance, strange and beautiful creatures are lovers, and death is never quite the end.

UNDEAD is an album about the darkness from the inside and living the fire on the outside. An album about the world we inhabit now, with uncertainty, upheaval, mortality — and whatever awaits.

UNDEAD lives in the strange space between the dead and the future — where ghosts linger and new worlds emerge, and where the living and the dead keep dancing.

The album is produced by HOLA GHOST, mixed by Christian Alex Petersen (D-A-D, Mew) and it features three striking guest appearances by the acclaimed pedal steel guitarist Maggie Björklund, Nina Methling of Fancy Lee adding a haunted Creole voodoo vibe, and the enigmatic La Niña on one of the albums country and western inspired tracks.

The wild and winding story: HOLA GHOST emerged from the members past in psychobilly legends Nekromantix and the Danish dark rockers Schwarzwald Library. Working with award winning American artist Gris Grimly, HOLA GHOST released the soundtrack for the movie Cannibal Flesh Riot as their debut album. Since then, HOLA GHOST has taken their haunting strange, cinematic universe around the world, releasing albums, EPs and singles, leading up to the release of the new album UNDEAD.

Light a fire and let it out of control. Summon your demons, before they grow old…

UNDEAD is out on LP and CD on January 15, 2027 via Svart Records. Digital album releases on the first day of 2027. https://www.svartrecords.com/en/product/hola-ghost-undead/14915
