ANNISOKAY – Aurora

/ 0 Comments / By :

ANNISOKAY is a german metalcore band that was founded in 2007. They have been considered one of the most talented German bands with a international flair. The established independent record label SPV signed the band in 2014 and three studio albums were released. In 2018 they switched from SPV to Arising Empire. That was the same year ‘Arms’ was released, and now they are ready to release their fifth album ‘Aurora.’

‘Like A Parasite’ are the first tunes of the new album ‘Aurora.’ A core influenced sound with nice clean vocals and a catchy chorus. ‘STFU’ shows us the more aggressive side of ANNISOKAY. Metalcore with some nice breaks where the clean vocals are mixed in perfectly.

‘The Tragedy’ has a lot dance/r&b influences. Too much to my taste but it helps a lot that the chorus has a pretty good vibe. ‘Face The Facts’ has a happy vibe, so do the vocals and at the end there are some nice breaks. Then we have ‘Overload’, that is just a very catchy song. And then they bring in the big guns. ‘Bonfire Of The Millennials’ is one of my personal favorites on this album. It’s not very aggressive but it has a certain catchy vibe. It reminds me a lot of Within Temptation but then with a male singer.

Okay, we have a song with dance/r&b influences. Well, this ‘The Cocaines Got Your Tongue’ is influenced by the rap scene. It’s not bad but it’s not my taste. With ‘Under Your Tattoos’ they bring back the aggressive metalcore. ‘The Blame Song’ is from the same aggressive metalcore side, but with a really catchy chorus and some amazing riffs.

‘I Saw What You Did’ goes back to the agressive djent style. ‘Standing Still’ is a beautiful slow song. ‘Friend Or Enemy’ goes back to the Within Temptation vibe and we end this album with ‘Terminal Velocity’ more agressive metalcore with a Within Temptation vibe.
