King Satan – I Want You To Worship Satan

What if Rammstein and Slipknot had a baby? And maybe a bit of Die Antwoord? There’s not really an example of how King Satan sounds. They are who they are and that is what I love about this album. I’ve never heard it before and it’s awesome.

The album starts of with ‘The Killing of God’. An upbeat song with a low distorted guitar and the growling voice of lead singer King Aleister Satan.

Following up is the song ‘Fuck Yoga’, a song that’s true to my heart, cause let’s be honest, nobody can do these formations where you have to put your foot in your neck while you are bending your back into half a circle. Although, in this case King Satan is talking about the fact that the goal of yoga is to escape the struggles of life for a second. But that escaping of live doesn’t make much sense as the world will always be chaos and you should be friends with that chaos instead of escaping it.

Psychosadomasochism talks about the fact that there’s a pill for everything. People often don’t think about the effects, even if it might hurt them more than it does when they are with their head in reality.

‘Who you gonna be? What you gonna be? When you gonna be freed form the chemical reactions within and without of neurotransmissions? When perceived these particles have lost their superposition… ‘

King Satan – Psychosadomasochism

Oh, and don’t play this one on speaker when you’re sitting in the living room with your parents. It might be, what shall I say, a little uncomfortable when certain sounds are played.

The title track of the album, ‘I Want You to Worship Satan’, slaps you in the face. It’s a phone call, a short one. The person who gets the phone call does not know who their speaking to. The deep, growling voice asks the person to worship him. When the person wants to know who he’s speaking to, the final sentence of the conversation, the voice says ‘I am YOU’. If that isn’t proof we can all have inner demons, I don’t know what is.

All Magick is Chaos Magick’ hits you with one powerful line: ‘God has no face, but the one we grant HIM’. That to me, is the definition of religion in one sentence. We choose to believe in something or not. But what we believe, is what we, ourselves, choose to believe.

Fuck the World’ talks about global warming and all the shit that’s going on in the world where we don’t do much about. Didn’t expect that when seeing the title, but this is one serious song covered in an upbeat synth with a higher tempo, growling voices and a fast soloing guitar. A combination I’ve never seen, but one that definitely sticks to your brain.

Circus of the Mind’ totally describes today’s situation. A big brother situation as the song calls it. People are watching you wherever you go. Money is everything and the wrong people are trying to rule the world, if you know what I mean. The thing is, they get away with it too.

Raison D’etre’ is one big mystery. Why are we here? What is our purpose? A search for a god or a demon or just for yourself. Literally translated this song is called ‘Reason of being’. It’s a mystery that will be different for everybody and that only the person who questions can answer.

Closer ‘The Portrait of Darkness’ is a real thinker. The mystery of the darkness. So deep you don’t know where to look for yourself. Depression? Being fooled? This one goes deep.

When I saw this album and read the title, I thought is was one big joke. A funny album to laugh with. But man, this was much more serious than I thought. An album with important messages, covered in a clown face. But if you dig deeper, you find the true meaning and message of this album.

The clown face comes with synth sounds, combined with punk sounding guitars and a growling voice. Combine this with an upbeat tempo and the mask is complete. When you tear it down though, it’s a whole different story.
