One of our reporters ended up being part of the Graspop Metal Meeting 2023 crew this year, but still found the time to check out the shows of Beast In Black, Butcher Babies, and Guns ‘n’ Roses on the first day of Belgium’s biggest metal festival!

Every year, one day of the 10-day long Lokerse Feesten is dedicated to metal. A day full of headbanging, mosh-pits and heavy guitars with this year Hammok, Biohazard, Doodseskader, Bullet For My Valentine, Psychonaut, Megadeth, Slift, Within Temptation, Stake and Amenra.
There was “Nothing to Gein” the first Friday of August in Ohio except metal bands that absolutely melted our faces off, with the Mudvayne “Psychotherapy Sessions” tour dropping by with support from Coal Chamber, GWAR, Nonpoint and Butcher Babies!
In the beginning of the month, the streets of Brussels turned black and the sky was filled with smoke for 3 days in a row: Rammstein was in town, and they held nothing back!
With their unique style of epic doom metal, the British quartet Godthrymm has released another stunning album. The sophomore ‘Distortions’ is beautifully cloaked in a sorrowful vocals and heavy guitar dirges. Out today via Profound Lore Records.

We got to see one of the Raskasta Iskelmää live shows at the sold out Hönö bar in Tampere. Featuring Marko Hietala, Antti Railio and Ville Tuomi on vocals, it’s the perfect summer getaway while waiting for the Raskasta Joulua season. A very fun evening presented by Tuhdimmat Tahdit and Master Events.
