Dead Serious is back with a first new single in over 3 decades!

Bay Area–style thrash metal band Dead Serious have returned with their first new music in more than three decades. The band has released a brand new single titled “Not Dead Not Serious”, which became available worldwide on March 7, 2026, across all major streaming platforms.

The track marks the band’s first single in 32 years, signalling a new chapter for the thrash outfit while staying true to the energy and spirit that defined their early work. Alongside the release, the band has also unveiled an official lyric video for the song on YouTube.

The single was mixed by Francis Snebbout at Oakwood Recordings and mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music.

Reflecting on the song’s origins, the band explains:

“As we were preparing ourselves for the first live shows, inspiration started taking over fairly quick in the process. We started mixing rehearsals up with the old material, and short jam sessions to come up with new ideas. Not Dead Not Serious quickly came out of those sessions, and after receiving a lot of positive feedback from playing this track live, we decided to record and release it as a single.’’

For Dead Serious, the new track represents both a return and a statement of intent for the future.

“This single is our ultimate statement to the outside world that we’re still alive and kicking, and ready to take on the next chapter in this story, all while upholding our biggest goal, which is to have fun, and not take things all too serious.”

“Not Dead Not Serious” is now available on all streaming platforms.

Catch them live at our very own Asgaard Gentbrugge and this summer at Alcatraz Festival among other places on their “Quack on the Road 2026” tour schedule:
