Doom duo Kulk release new single ‘Ache’

Norwich based doom duo Kulk have announced signing to Church Road Records and their new devastating single ‘Ache’, out now.

“Ache, is not only for our friend Meg who we lost in 2023, it’s for all of us left behind. This track was the first we had written after she died and has opened our shows for a while now. Ache describes living with grief after years. It’s not the immense pain of the first few days, but it’s ever present and consistent. Like a broken bone that hasn’t healed right, it has changed the way we move, act and think; always there never letting up.

It was also an honour to have Hannah Asprey, of the band IAN, perform a devastatingly beautiful cello feature.” – Kulk

Kulk has been hard at work writing a follow up to 2024’s successful album ‘It Gets Worse’. Their new single ‘Ache’ is just a small taste of what’s to come, keep your eyes peeled and ears primed for their forthcoming album on Church Road Records (details coming soon).

The band have toured across the UK extensively the past few years, playing amongst bands such as Part Chimp, Hey Colossus, Crowbar, Melt Banana, Iress, Big Brave, Gnoomes, Conan and Portrayal of Guilt… to name a few! They have toured twice with PigsX7, including shows at Electric Ballroom (London) and Rock City (Nottingham) and have appeared at the renowned UK festivals Arctangent and Desertfest.

Kulk is a two person band, composed of Thom [guitar/vocals] and Jade [drums/synth], the band is simultaneously an exploration into human suffering and an extension of their relationship. Kulk reflects exactly what heavy music is, aggressive and brutal yet ultimately made out of love for the ones around us. They pride themselves on their energetic and chaotic live performance.

Join them on their sonic assault of a journey!

Band Members:
Thom Longdin – Guitar and vocals
