Album Reviews
“Projections” carves a new niche and a whole musical direction for doom fans to enjoy. Godthrymm marches into a path between traditional doom and sludge, and this is what sets them apart in the doom metal scene today. Out via Profound Lore Records since May 29th.
Cryptworm’s third album “Infectious Pathological Waste” is a putrid death metal record, and that’s because of the flair for bringing out those disgusting gurgling growls with grooves and immense brutality. The inspired death-slam grotesque cover art solidifies their ugly sound, which is similar to Undergang, Autopsy, and Fetid. Out via Me Saco Un Ojo Records since March 27th.
UK based death metal five-piece Vacuous returns with their sophomore release “In His Blood”, offering a brutal slab of death metal with hints of post-punk and other influences. Undoubtedly one of the strongest releases of 2025, out via Relapse Records!
Architects = brutality on this album. They are back with the blegh and brutal breakdowns just the way we like it, but without completely forgetting their more recent sound and sense of doing things differently. Out vvia Epitaph Records.
Debut album “The Diseased Machine” from London’s death metal quintet Mutagenic Host packs heavy aggression of old-school death metal with spacey themes. Out via Dry Cough Records since January 3rd.
After thirty years Adorior slithers out from the depths of hell to convey its satanic wicked album ‘Bleed On My Teeth’ through the medium of raw fucking metal. Out via Dark Descent Records and comes highly recommended for fans of Slayer, Absu and Angelcorpse!
Grimgotts is a symphonic power metal band up to their second album ‘Dragons Of The Ages’. If you like pirate metal from Alestorm and Lagerstein, don’t hesitate to check these guys out.
Foul Body Autopsy is back, just a year after the previous album. Fans will not be disappointed and if you’re new to this, why not give it a try.
Anaal Nathrakh are still pushing the boundaries of extreme music to its furthest limits. The dynamic duo from Birmingham have done so with each new release, and this time’s no different.
Desert Storm’s Sentinels gives you sludge that sticks to the groove, heavier than the sun’s core, dirtier than a hobo’s pits.
