Empusae set to release new album featuring CHVE

Belgian dark ambient/electronic artist Empusae is set to release his new album Lueur on Consouling Sounds on April 7 with vocals by Colin H. Van Eeckhout (Amenra, CHVE, Kingdom, Sembler Deah, Absent in Body, …) under the name Empusae ft. CHVE.

Empusae has been paving the way for many years now, resulting in the release of one critically acclaimed album after another. The main man, Sal-Ocin (Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio, Onus and BARST) was recently joined by Chris Nesis (Nesisart) who took on permanent visual artist duties. All art direction for this album was also in her capable hands.

Empusae is best known in the dark electronica scene. With his release of the deeply personal album Lueur, Empusae is breaking out of these confines for sure. It sounds unmistakably like Empusae, but the dark and brooding drone palette expands his sound tremendously. CHVE‘s characteristic vocal approach gives the music an extra sense of grief and longing, lending the music an extra urgency. This tale about darkness and light will not leave you unmoved and is bound to linger in your mind.

The new album will be presented at Ancienne Belgique during the BRDCST festival. On which Empusae will headline this special Consouling Sounds curated unique event “Ogentroost/Lueur”: a one-time performance of a modern tragedy in 6 acts — alongside A-Sun Amissa, BARST + Karen Willems, Medeamaterial (excerpts from the opera, performed by Innerwoud), Treha Sektori, and CHVE.
