Ernte set release date for new album and reveal first track

Black Metal

Purity ThroughFire announces February 13th, 2026 as the international release date for Ernte‘s highly anticipated fourth album, Der schwarzen Flamme Vermächtnis, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Ernte are True Helvetic Black Metal. After almost 20 years of creating dark ambient music, photography, painting, and graphic art, Häxär decided that it was time to return to the roots: In 2020, his long-time passion for black metal found a form of expression in Ernte, where he is the main songwriter, guitar player, and responsible for recording and mixing. In Askahex (vocals, bass, violin), he found an appropriate and experienced co-musician. She played bass and violin in the all-girl doom band shEver before she started as frontwoman in the Swiss black-doom band Ashtar.

Both original and traditional at the same time, Ernte capture misanthropic, anti-modern thoughts while calling back to a distant past with an invoking of old energies and spirits. In December 2023, Ernte made their successful live debut, accompanied by two session musicians. Following the band’s previous two albums, 2024’s Weltenzerstörer represented a further development of Ernte‘s earlier work, emphasizing their melodic and atmospheric elements while remaining true to their black metal origins.

In 2025, Ernte completed work on their fourth album, Der schwarzen Flamme Vermächtnis. The result is a fierce and war-driven record that, while embracing a back- to-the-roots spirit, still carves out space for atmosphere and depth. A unique combination of “clean uncleanliness” or perhaps “sparkling filth,” the album’s utterly shredded soundfield yields a wealth of nuance and detail, dynamics and juxtaposition, even when ramping up to the fastest & most-metronomic tempos. Aesthetic signposts point to the cryogenic Nordic splendor of early Dødheimsgard and Manes to turn-of-the-millennium French berzerkers like Bael and Haemoth; nevertheless, Ernte exhibit their own songwriting flair across this fourth full-length.

“It is our oath to the old ways,” Ernte conclude about Der schwarzen Flamme Vermächtnis, “to values forged in fire and blood, long before the rot of modernity crept in. We stand in defiance of this decaying world, waging war against the hollow progress of a sickened society. The modern world is a blight—may nature rise and devour mankind. Let the Black Flame consume what never should have been.”
