On a hot Sunday afternoon at Club Hell in Diest, the Finnish group Luna Kills gave their first show ever in Belgium. After seeing them in On The Rocks, Helsinki on their CD release show we saw a big potential for the band and had to see them again.

Pacemaker

They had a collaboration with a beginning band from Tilburg named Pacemaker. For a support act, they came in perfect harmony with Luna Kills and gave an In This Moment type of music performance with more tone to the calm atmospheres and a keyboard as an element for a modern touch. That combined with the stylish singer Carissa De Wit who displays a strong character, pacemaker is a group that shows a promising future. We are curious to see which way the band will turn in the future with their sound. Because they definitely had our attention.

Luna Kills

Luna Kills‘ first album ‘Deathmatch’ was released on April fourth. They brought us a nostalgic sound of the heavier alt-metal Bring Me The Horizon and Bad Omens era combined with cyber-esque nightcore electronica music as background. As two exceedingly distant sounds of music, it is surprisingly catchy and a fresh concept to create. Frontwoman Lotta had a perfect balance of emotional clean vocals and freshly learned grunts that blew everyone away. Altogether, with involving the audience and even giving a shoutout for Mother’s Day, the band did not only leave a strong image, but also a glimpse into the future for the sound of metal.
